Connect
Every app uses the same address. You sign in to Summarly once and choose which workspaces it may read; no API key to copy.
Claude
claude.ai, desktop and mobile
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Summarly and paste the server address.
- Sign in to Summarly, tick the workspaces Claude may read, and allow.
- In a chat, turn Summarly on from the tools menu and ask.
Other AI apps
If they connect to MCP servers
An app that can add a remote MCP server with sign-in uses the same address: add it, and Summarly asks you to sign in and choose the workspaces, as it does for Claude.
Summarly is built and tested with Claude, so for now that is the one we can vouch for.
What Claude can read
The same tools Summarly's own assistant uses, so Claude and Ask AI give the same numbers.
Find transactions
query_transactionsFilter by date, vendor, category, account, amount, receipt, tag or the Review queue, sorted newest, oldest or largest. Each row links back to the transaction in Summarly.
Total transactions
aggregateTotals by category, vendor, month or quarter for any period, with income and expenses apart, monthly figures, and a comparison with another period.
Accounts and balances
query_accountsBank accounts, cards and cash with their balances, the same figure as the Overview. Other currencies are converted at the European Central Bank rate.
Categories
query_categoriesYour chart of categories, with which need a receipt, which are tax-deductible and their VAT treatment.
Vendors
query_vendorsWho you pay and who pays you over a period, most first, and the bank names not yet linked to a vendor.
Your companies
list_workspacesThe workspaces you shared with Claude, each with its currency and today's date there.
Things to ask
- “What did we spend on software this year, by vendor?”
- “Compare our expenses this quarter with the same quarter last year.”
- “Which payments over €1,000 last month still have no receipt?”
- “What's our cash balance across all accounts?”
- “Who are our ten biggest suppliers since January?”
- “Show me everything still waiting in Review.”
- “How much has Nova Ltd paid us this year, month by month?”
- “Which vendors look like the same supplier under two names?”
You stay in charge
Read-only
Claude can read; it can't categorise, match receipts, draft invoices or change anything else. Changes are made in Summarly, or by Ask AI inside it.
Only the companies you tick
When you connect, Summarly asks which of your workspaces Claude may read. Each answer is about one of them. Leave a workspace and Claude stops reading it straight away.
The owner has the last word
A workspace's owner can see every member's connection, disconnect any of them, or turn AI apps off for the whole workspace, under Settings → Members.
Disconnect any time
Settings → Connected apps lists what you connected and when it was last used. Disconnect stops it at once. Every connect and disconnect is in the workspace's access log.
Questions
Which Claude plans can use it?
Any Claude plan that lets you add a custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an admin of your Claude organisation may need to add it first; each person then connects their own Summarly account.
Does it work with other AI apps?
It's built and tested with Claude. An app that connects to remote MCP servers with sign-in (OAuth) uses the same address and the same sign-in, but we can't vouch for it until we've tried it.
What can't Claude see yet?
Receipts, invoices, payroll, reports and the financial statements. Ask AI, inside Summarly, answers about all of those.
Where does my data go?
What Claude reads is sent to Claude under your own Claude account and Anthropic's terms for it, not ours. Our AI terms explain the difference. Read the AI terms.
My workspace requires two-step sign-in.
Then Claude can read it only if you entered your authenticator code when you connected. Add an authenticator app under Settings → Security first.
Is there a limit?
Up to 120 requests a minute per connection, which a conversation doesn't come near. Connecting AI apps is part of Premium, and every feature is open during early access.
